About the Artwork

'Take a Breath' is based on the 'Breath' gatherings that I went to at Annandale Creative Arts Centre (ACAC) circa 2021 during the 'COVID uncertainty' era. I have always struggled with breathing exercises when it comes to mental health strategies but I loved how we discussed the necessity and universality of breathing. For life, each of us needs to breathe in air daily and yet we all share this same life giving oxygen in our lungs and in the atmosphere. This can sometimes be very difficult in times of uncertainty and we can forget to breathe in deeply. I hope this artwork of a sunset / sunrise over water helps people to relax, take a big breath in and try to regulate their breathing.
